Recent Performance Highlights

March 30
Performance as guest with the New York Woodwind Quintet, presented by the Emma Concert Association in St. Augustine, Florida.

April 22
An Evening of New Music for Flute, 7:30 p.m., Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City, presented by Williams Flutes.  A concert of premieres written for April Clayton by composers Lance Horne (who won an Emmy award in June 2008), Philip Lasser, Harold Meltzer (who won the Barlow Prize in the summer of 2008), Eric Sessler, and Manuel Sosa.

May 9      
Performance as Principal Flute with the Salt Lake Choral Artists in Mendelssohn’s Elijah.  7:30 p.m., Libby Gardner Concert Hall, Salt Lake City.

May 16, 23       
Performances on the Deseret Chamber Music Festival Concert Series.  May 16: concert with the Orpheus Winds Quintet.  May 23: performance of the Prokofiev Flute Sonata in an All-Prokofiev concert.  7:30 p.m., Gordon B. Hinckley Visitor’s Center, Provo.

June 5-7              
Residence at Snow College Summer Flute Festival.
Returning Faculty; other faculty members include Linda Chesis, Dr. Elaine Jorgensen, and Dr. Kristine Parker. Includes June 6, 7:30 p.m. solo faculty recital at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah.

June 16-21
Flute Artist Faculty, BYU Young Musician’s Summer Festival. Includes June 17 performances in the Faculty Artists Concert, 7:30 p.m., Madsen Recital Hall.

June 27              
Performance with the Orpheus Winds Quintet, Snow College
International Chamber Music Festival, “From Manhattan to the
Mountains.”  7:30 p.m., Snow College, Ephraim.

July 1-31
Residence at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, France.
Returning Artist Faculty and Chamber Music Director for the European American Musical Alliance Summer Program. Includes a July 17, 8 p.m. solo recital in the Salle Cortot in Paris with collaborative pianists Philippa Neuteboom and EAMA President Philip Lasser, as well as cellist Julie Bevan; also collaborations with faculty and student composers.

Concert of chamber music with flute.  Guest artists include
baritone Christopher Clayton, cellist Julie Bevan, violist Claudine Bigelow, and others.  2:30, Madsen Recital Hall, Provo.
